Casa Luz

CASA LUZ
GIVE BACK
TO THE COMMUNITY

Their mission to is break the intergenerational cycle of abuse and exploitation in Costa Rica by providing safe and loving environments for young at-risk mothers and their children.

This organization provides these people with resources and tools to help their reintegration into society.

AN ALLIANCE OF HOPE

The foundation was created by Canadian couple Lori and Eldon Cooke in 2003 and is located near San Jose, Costa Rica. Lori and Eldon moved to Costa Rica in the early 1990s to open up Grano de Oro, a boutique hotel and restaurant.

Casa Luz is home to young mothers and their children running away from abuse, extreme poverty, and exploitation. The program is divided into 2 phases. The first phase focuses on getting mother and child into a safe environment while providing education, emotional support, and rehabilitation. The second phase is the delicate transition of reintegration into society highlighting continuing education and emotional support.

In 2020, our founder, Brent Beckley, visited with many at-risk families at Casa Luz and decided to support their mission as much as possible. Since then, a portion of Beckley Hospitality Group’s proceeds are donated to Casa Luz to help continue the organization’s selfless mission to helping impoverished and vulnerable families break away from perpetual cycles of abuse, and to provide a brighter path for their future.
